The magical atmosphere of Christmas and the spirit of the festivities is just round the corner.
This beautiful and delicious dessert was traditional in my family and brings back to my childhood and it is the first dessert I ever made with my grandma.
Ingredients
50gr unsweetened cocoa powder
100 gr unsalted and melted butter
250gr rich tea biscuits
200gr sugar
1 egg
Lemon zest
2 spoons Pistachios or Hazelnut (optional)
2 spoons Port wine or Rum (optional)
Method
Crumble the biscuit into pieces. Whisk the butter and egg and add the sugar, cocoa powder, lemon zest and mix until you obtain a creamy mixture. Add crushed biscuits, sweet wine and nuts to the chocolate and mixture and stir with a spatula until well combined. Place the mixture on a baking sheet and mould the mixture into a salame-like log. Roll up the paper and twist the ends tightly. Place in the fridge for several hours. Unwrap the log from the paper and dust with icing sugar.
Cut into slices and serve. ENJOY!
