It is a very hard moment for all of us and sometimes one of the most effective ways to refresh your mood or reduce your anxiety is spend some time cooking. This is a very easy recipe, with basic ingredients you always have at home: (I have always oranges)
Milk, sugar, eggs, flour and orange or lemon. It is a very easy and lovely cream used to fill cake or fantastic Italian croissant and doughnuts.
Ingredients
Italian Pastry cream
500ml milk
4 egg egg yolk
40g flour
100g sugar
I orange or lemon peel (optional)
Method
Heat the milk and the orange peel, at a low heat.
At the same time whisk the yolks in a medium bowl with the sugar and then add the flour. Mix continuously and gently, making sure there are no lumps.
Slowly whisk the warmed milk into the egg mixture, put in a pot an cook over low heat. Stir constantly to prevent lumps. The cream should be thick but no stiff.
Remove from the heat and pour into a bowl.
Refrigerate until cold or eat warm with fruit or with sweet wine and biscuit
