A fantastic and easy recipe for homemade thick, smooth and beautifully glossy LEMON CUSTARD
- 500ml whole milk
- 6 eggs yolks
- 25 gr cornflour
- 25 gr flour
- 150 sugar
- 2 Lemon or orange zest
- 1 lemon or orange peel
- 1 tbsps pure vanilla extract
Heat the milk, vanilla and 1 lemon peel in a pan and gently until just boiling. Meanwhile, pour the egg yolks and sugar into a small bowl, whisk until all the mixture is light in colour. Add flour, cornflour an lemon zest, mixing carefully so that are no lumps.
Remove the lemon peel from the milk and pour the hot milk fonto the sugar mixture, whisking constantly. Mix well, then transfer the mixture to the same gentle heat and continue whisking until the custard is thick and smooth.
Custard can be enjoyed with a variety of dessert or just with fruit.
